In anticipation of the release of the new City and The Sea record, “Leave A Light On” on September 21, the band will be doing a series of shows through September and October at their usual haunt the Lazy Flamingo, playing new material from the EP and beyond, plus some old favourites. Every show will be 19+ and absolutely free. This is a great opportunity to check out the band live in an intimate atmosphere.

Before you head off to your cottages here’s a quick rundown on what’s coming up for City and the Sea:

Next weekend on Saturday, July 12 we are performing at Hamilton Wingfest. We go on at 2pm at the West Stage. The event is free (except for the wings) and you can get all the info here. See you there Hamilton!

We just finished another fun week in the studio, mixing new tunes and enjoying the sunshine. Here’s a little video I put together a while back with some footage of us at Vibewrangler. The audio is a demo of our new tune, “Leave A Light On”. Hope you dig it, have a good weekend!

Back in the studio this week

Thanks to all the friends and fans who came out to our first show as City and The Sea last week at This Ain’t Hollywood! We had a blast, we hope you enjoyed the new tunes! Our next gig is happening at Wingfest on June 12, check the Shows section for all the info.

Our new EP, “Leave A Light On” is nearly complete. Four new songs make up the new release, including “Fool’s Union”, “Hundred”, “Gimme Me Back My Soul”, and the title track. We’re back in the studio this week to put the finishing touches and then this baby is ready to go!

If you know what’s good for you, you’ll come out to This Ain’t Hollywood tonight! Doors open at 9pm, 5$ bucks gets you in. 345 JAMES STREET NORTH, Hamilton! It’s going to be a great party, be sure to come out early to catch Greg Preston and The Stars Here’s Paddy Townsend! We hit the stage around 11:30.

Well if you haven’t noticed, the Mississippi Kings are no more, we are now CITY AND THE SEA! Thanks for stopping by the new page, we hope that if you liked the Kings, you’ll love the new band.

We’re playing our debut show under the new name this FRIDAY, MAY 28 at THIS AIN’T HOLLYWOOD in Hamilton, with special guests The Stars Here and Greg Preston! We have a whole new batch of songs in our live set that we can’t wait for everyone to hear! Our new “Leave A Light On” EP is almost finished and ready for your ears.
