There really isn’t much to say about it except it sounds epic, and you can expect a single sometime in the summer followed by a September release. We already have a title for it and everything (ssh, can’t tell you right now).

In the meantime, we’re writing lots, rehearsing even more, and hoping to announce some more tour dates in the near future. For the latest updates on City and The Sea, follow us on Twitter !

In studio news, drums are tracked for the new EP. Looks like it’s going to have 5 new songs, we’re aiming for a spring/summer release, and it’s already sounding pretty nifty.

Hey Toronto kids, we are coming back to Toronto sooner than expected! We are playing at the Rivoli on Friday, February 3. Sharing the stage that night will be Hamilton rockers Greg Preston & The Great Machine, plus more! $10 at the door gets you into what will surely be a legendary evening that you will want to write home about! See you there, pen pal.

You might notice some new photos on the front page. Thanks to our friend Jonah Istifan for taking the shots, featuring the official debut of City and The Sea Mk.II! We’re like Iron Man when he upgraded his suit and got fancy rocket boosters and shit. Except we’re not nearly as crappy as Iron Man II.

I know what you’re thinking: “Where there hell is your new record?! It’s only the most anticipated release of 2012!” Would you believe us if we said, “soon”. Of course, soon is a relative term and we do not yet have a release date for the new record. What we do know, is that it will feature five new songs and be in the form of an Extended Play release, or “EP” for short. We like our records short, this ain’t no Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness, but it will blow your mind just the same.

CATS
